They say Paris in the springtime is wonderful however I have been to Paris at various times of the year and am here to say that it is just wonderful no matter when you go!
As a single traveler sometimes you just have to decide what memories you want to cherish for a life time and just make it happen. I have taken tours to see Paris during the day and night. I have found that the best way to see Paris is by walking and taking the underground.
At the end of the movie “The Da Vinci Code,” Tom Hanks walks from his hotel following the Rose Line that ends up at the Glass Pyramid of the Louvre. I walked from the Arch De Triumph to the Louvre that actually doesn’t take that long but is an education in itself and is even more impressive at night.
Another great walk to take is from the Arch De Triumph back to the Eifel Tower. The journey takes you down windy streets that leads you to a great view of not only the Eifel Tower but the surrounding area. One thing to remember is to take plenty of water with you because there are not many places on this trek to stop and enjoy a cool beverage. Depending on what you want to accomplish, I might also take a few munchies.
One thing that I usually get when visiting a new city is a local map and a map of the local transportation. This helps me get around and makes for a greater experience. Staying close to the Eifel Tower, I used the underground to get to Notre Dame Cathedral. The underground takes you almost to the door step and from here I launched my walking trek back to the hotel. Not only is Notre Dame an amazing experience but the walk back takes you past some amazing small places to grab a bite to eat. My advice is to stop and enjoy a beverage at one of the outside cafes so that you can soak up the ambience and those precious moments that will stay with you forever. On my stroll back I found that each bridge was very unique and almost seemed to have its own personality especially the bridge that crosses right in front of the Eifel Tower.
Something to always remember for any trip is to take care of your health and be aware of your surroundings. Happy Traveling.
